Tour Plan

Depart Nairobi – Drive Through the Great Rift Valley

The day begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi in a comfortable 4x4 Land Cruiser, heading west through the breathtaking Great Rift Valley. The drive offers panoramic views of rolling escarpments, acacia woodlands, and distant volcanic formations. A short stop at a Rift Valley viewpoint allows for stunning photo opportunities before continuing towards the first destination of the day, Lake Nakuru National Park.

Morning Game Drive at Lake Nakuru National Park

Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru National Park, embark on an exciting game drive in the rugged 4x4 Land Cruiser, allowing easy navigation through the park’s varying terrain. Lake Nakuru is world-famous for its flamingo populations, though their numbers fluctuate with water levels. Beyond the birdlife, the park is home to white and black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, and troops of baboons.

The game drive takes you through acacia forests, open grasslands, and along the lakeshore, offering spectacular wildlife encounters. The park’s high concentration of rhinos makes it one of the best places in Kenya to see these endangered creatures up close. A stop at Baboon Cliff provides an elevated view of the shimmering lake, framed by surrounding hills and often dotted with flamingos and pelicans.

Drive to Lake Naivasha – Lunch by the Waterfront

After an exhilarating morning at Lake Nakuru, the journey continues to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake known for its tranquil beauty and rich biodiversity. Upon arrival, settle in for a relaxing lakeside lunch at a scenic lodge or restaurant. Enjoy freshly prepared dishes, including grilled meats, fresh fish, local vegetables, and refreshing beverages while overlooking the calm waters of the lake. The serene environment and cool breeze make for a perfect midday break.

Boat Ride on Lake Naivasha – Hippos & Birdlife

Following lunch, set off on a boat safari across Lake Naivasha, gliding through the calm waters in search of hippos, fish eagles, cormorants, and kingfishers. The lake’s ecosystem supports a wide variety of bird species, making it a haven for birdwatchers. The sight of fish eagles swooping down to catch fish is a highlight of the experience. The boat ride also offers scenic views of the surrounding landscapes, with Mount Longonot looming in the distance.

Crescent Island Walking Safari

The boat ride leads to Crescent Island, a unique wildlife sanctuary where visitors can take a guided walking safari among freely roaming animals. Unlike traditional game parks, Crescent Island has no predators, making it one of the few places in Kenya where you can walk safely among zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, and waterbucks. The experience provides an up-close, immersive encounter with wildlife, allowing for incredible photography and an appreciation of the animals’ natural behaviors.

The island is also home to a variety of bird species, and the open plains, dotted with acacia trees, create a peaceful setting for exploring on foot. Walking in the wild, surrounded by grazing herbivores, offers a truly unique and unforgettable safari experience.

Return to Nairobi – Sunset Drive Through the Rift Valley

As the day winds down, board the 4x4 Land Cruiser for a scenic sunset drive back to Nairobi, passing through the Rift Valley as golden light bathes the landscapes. The journey provides a final opportunity to soak in the beauty of Kenya’s diverse geography before arriving in the city in the evening.
