Early Morning Departure – SGR Train from Mombasa to Voi
The day begins with an early morning transfer from your hotel to the Mombasa SGR Terminus, where you will board the Madaraka Express train heading to Voi. The comfortable train ride offers stunning views of the coastal landscapes transitioning into the vast savannahs of Tsavo, with a chance to spot wildlife along the way. Enjoy the scenic journey as you move inland toward one of Kenya’s largest and most famous national parks.
Arrival at Voi – Transfer to Tsavo East National Park
Upon arrival at Voi SGR Station, you will be met by your safari guide and 4x4 Land Cruiser, ready to take you on an adventure through Tsavo East National Park. Known for its red elephants, vast open plains, and breathtaking scenery, Tsavo East is one of Kenya’s oldest and largest parks, covering over 13,000 square kilometers. After a short drive from Voi, you will enter the park through the Bachuma or Voi Gate, where your game drive begins.
Morning Game Drive – Wildlife & Scenic Landscapes
The morning is spent exploring Tsavo East’s iconic landscapes, known for its red-dust-coated elephants, large lion prides, buffalo herds, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. The park is also home to leopards, cheetahs, ostriches, and countless bird species. As you traverse the savannah, keep an eye out for the famous maneless lions of Tsavo, historically known as the "man-eaters of Tsavo."

Return to Voi – Board SGR Back to Mombasa
As the sun begins to lower, exit the park and head back to Voi SGR Station. Board the Madaraka Express train back to Mombasa, enjoying the relaxing ride as you reflect on the day’s incredible wildlife encounters. Upon arrival in Mombasa, a transfer will take you back to your hotel, marking the end of an unforgettable Tsavo East safari experience.
